Tastes may differ. On a serious note, the plastic dust inherent on the fresh ball would reduce frictionality of which Ovcharov was concerned. I am aware of why and that it is before all this COV stuff...
To me it is taking it a bit too far. It is totally unhealthy for both players, and to top it off, it just looks absolutely ridiculuous. I refrained from titling this thread 'Ovharov su**s b**ls. It made me wonder about his mental health too to be honest. I can't believe it was even allowed. It reminds me of a player I saw at the club spitting on his rubber 'to clean' it. And the only other sport that comes to mind remotely similar is the ball tampering in Australian cricket.
