Were u, Borko, the one who repaired Kalinic's blade? That is just a Classic. I saved that picture onto my desktop for my pleasure viewing. Thumbs%20Up
When I was a kid in the late 70s in UK, I watched on TV when Surbek played some Chinese national Lee Zhen Che(sp?) or someth'n, RH Cpen fast attacker, he just smoked Lee and Surbek was also an amazing player and just loved his FH and also his intimitating "stare".

I was involved in the repair at one time when Mr.Kalinic came to visit San Diego but the blade was repaired several times during its life .Usually Mr.Kalinic come in San Diego to see me and than we go together to US Open in Las Vegas especially if Aleksandar Karakasevic plays .Mr.Kalinic also has the responsability with Juic Co.

Here's a blade made before most of you were born or still babies. This is my beloved Butterfly "Oberon"(carbon) purchased back in '85. This was the most expensive blade until the Sardius was unveiled.
This was actually a looping blade, but it still had good speed. Someone had a new sample about six years ago at the nationals that had never been used and I offered $50. I lost track of him after that.
I may take it to a local woodshop to see if it can be re-finished.

I played with it for years before the Sardius came along. I caused the damage to the wood fibers about 10 years ago by applying too much glue and ripping the sheet off in a hurry.
The total price was $85(w/rubber- $120) from Paddle Palace.

Apparently, when applying glue to a blade, too much glue will damage the blade surface...

The oldest blade I've got is my Butterfly Sardius which I bought 7 years ago. All my other blades before Sardius are just those cheap premade blades.

The Oberon has thinner wood covering than a Gergley(my second carbon racket) and is slower.

The rubber is fairly new. I changed 'em earlier this year. However, I've been playing with my Xiom Stradivarius and Butterfly Andrzej Grubba more lately, so my Butterfly Sardius is somewhat neglected. However, it is my first blade, so it will never be sold!
