seems like you can only see it on the Eurosport Asia Pacific subchannel. I have no idea how to see that, I've never seen anything else than the normal Eurosport on my telly.

The countdown might be messed up by the timezones - play starts today (Saturday) at 10am local time in Russia, which should be 2am Eastern (USA/Canada).

Coming up in a few minutes: Germany - Denmark.

Both teams won their first matches, but Germany had a lot of trouble with a very young French team (Mattenet, Lebesson, Salifou) - Boll was down 8-10 in the fifth against Lebesson before pulling off the win. Lebesson had beaten Ovtcharov.

I have just watched it and it works.

Russia - Croatia 3:0

wow, I didn't expect that. For some reason, Tan Ruiwu doesn't play and when Kuzmin managed to defeat Primorac 3:2 in the first match, it was pretty clear the match is basically over (then Smirnov - Gacina 3:0, Rubtsov - Redjep 3:0)

ttlive.tv will show the women's final (Hungary-Netherlands) at 8am Eastern, and the men's final (Germany-Belarus) at 11am. There'll also be some "position match" at 5am.

The final has started - full-screen can be watched here:
http://static.mogulus.com/grid/PlayerV2.swf?channel=st_petersburg1&externalInterface=false&backgroundColor=0x000000&color=0x333333&showviewers=true&on=true&initialVolume=10&chatEnabled=true

Boll wins the first game easily against Nehkvedovich.
Second match will be Ovtcharov-Samsonov, then Steger-Chtchetinine.

Blocking appears to be very important/effective in the "new era".  Both Boll and Samsonov used the block to great effect (esp. Samsonov).  Even Nehkvedovich almost blocked his way past Dima, much closer than expected.

Singles should be interesting.  Tough to beat Samsonov if he plays like he did today.

In the middle of the last match - Ovtcharov vs Nekhvedovich, TT Live has crashed and I kept getting error messages from their service provider.

Anyone else got that?

So use the links that amateur provided above - they work! Thanks!

Well, it was almost obvious that Samsonov will get two points and the question only was whether any of the other two guys - Chtchetinine and Nekhvedovich - could come up with a small miracle (as they did in 2003)

Ovtcharov is pretty overrated. Nekhvedovich could have beat him, had he kept his nerves cool at the end of the 3rd game.

And daily interviews are here:

So far with Samsonov, Toth, Chen Weixing, Rosskopf... all in German however.
