I can't wait, it would be great tournament, all Chinese are there except Wang Hao, who is not in the good form, + top players of the rest.

Aww man, the choppers face each other right off the bat and the two young Germans as well. Looks like Boll will be tested right out the gate here. I guess with 6 Chinese it's pretty much unavoidable, but still, that's a lot of Chinese...There could well be only one German left after two rounds.

Also noticed, only two penholders, and soon maybe none if Boll wins, Zhang Jike does very well against Ma Lin. Boll has never played Xu Xin, but you know Xu Xin has trained against "Boll" clones.

Also sad, no Wang Hao, Samsanov, Mizutani, Maze, etc.

I think with a bit of luck Dima makes a chance versus Ma Long.
Would there be a Ovtcharov clone in China?

Well Dima did well the first time, took him to 7 games. The second though it was more one sided. 2-11,11-7,2-11,4-11,8-11. Losing 11-2, 11-2 and 11-4 is pretty bad...
If they didn't have one the first time, they may now since he is getting better.

Is there a reason there are so many Germans (nothing against them)? But would have loved to see Samsonov, Jun, Maze and Schlager. Would be nice to see Liqin make it to the final, he seems to be struggling a bit recently.

Well some got in because they were on the verge points wise in the pro tour and other players who were ahead of them, Samsanov, Jun, etc. dropped out. Schlager just didn't have many points, he only played in a couple pro tour events and both times got knocked out by Patrick Baum, who is consequently there.

I hate how ittf posts matches in a way so that if you don't watch it right away when a match is first played...you know the outcome e.g. they post the quaterfinal matches - and then right next to them they post the semi final matches.. =(
