Just a small correction - Inner Mongolia, China, not Mongolia (which is a separate country). Hohhot is about 450 km north-west of Beijing... a little off road, so to speak, but I am sure it will be a lot of fun... and I bet, tons of Chinese veterans can be expected there.

Really would love to go but still haven't perfected my cloning chamber - so that I can go and my clone can stay home posing as myself, doing all the chores, grocery shopping and driving the kids around. Oh well...

Tickets is free as long as you are a veteran player though... how much does it cost to fly over there? It's funny though that they only buy you a ticket to get there, knowing you have to go home somehow...LOLLOL

So the international air fare is not covered, Deadthey only cover the ticket from the training center (in a different city) to the city which holds the event. OuchThe original post almost got me there... Somehow this sounds like a sales scam... They make you think that you are getting everything free, and charges you almost 2 grand USD for a 20 day training. Trust me, the ticket is NOT free...it's already covered in the 1890 USD, they just don't tell you about it...I'd say that a ticket like that probablly cost like $150 or even less, so it's like paying 150 for a ticket and another 1740 for your training, plus a international airfare.

You are forgetting that people who write that ad are not native English speakers. And also - when exactly were advertisements for additional (and often unnecessary) services very clear? remember the last time when they tried to sell you undercarriage anti-corrosion protection at your car dealer?

Common ventilators - that's a great name for us... they probably just meant "table tennis fans" but it is indeed funny!

Still, what a wonderful prospect for an older gentleman to train with the best for only $6 per hour and to take part in a real wc.

I just hope we will get some videos from Hohhot. In Rio 2008 we were lucky to get a lot of very interesting videos thanks to Redoya. Unfortunately he was not seen here since end of 2008... too bad.

George Hendry has been playing again. He was out for quite a while with a knee injury and hopes to compete again. He didn't say anything about more international competition and will not likely play in the U.S. Open this year.
