On the women side....29 players from Korea !!!!!

Out of 102 players, only Lisa Lung, G Dvorak, Li Jie, Yu Fu, Shao Jieni, Balazova will represent non Asian countries....only 6 out of 102 for a platinium open ! I have never seen this, no Germans, No Russians, no Romanians....

For the first time, I see that China announced its players to the Challenge Open Nigeria (August 2018).

And with the declared Chinese players the chances of getting at least a quarterfinal in "Open Korea" are small, even for the Japanese ....

I didn't even know there's an Australian Open. It's also one of the "Platinum" events, which I figure is the most important of the tours? It's also within a week from the Korean Open, also a Platinum event. Seems too close?

You are naive to believw that losing European participants have zero returns. By your logic only the top 4 seeds should be participatimg.

It is fun to play against the chinese top players. Europwans get exposure playing with much higher level than they are used to. Especially true for juniors. Australia is a beautiful country and has unique offerings interms nature. Also some top europeans may catch some top chinese playing their b game and there is always hope. Anyeay, there are other returns if you think about it.

But is the return worth the investment? Australia is a long way from Europe. There's gonna be expensive long flights and jet lag to overcome. If it's a big event like World Cup (not the soccer one) or WTTC, yeah it's worth it but not a pro tour IMO.
