For those of you interested in the Huntsman World Senior Games held each year in Utah, last year they added hardbat to the table tennis events and it is added this year as well.  One more reason to play in this tournament!!

I'm so used to it that I barely notice any more.

Jay is this a "worth it" type tournament to travel too? I see a max of 225 players and divided over multiple events i am worried. I don't want to travel half way across the country to play 3 matches or so.

edited typo

My wife enjoys this tournament a lot.  I think it was her first travel tournament. That and the fact that it is driving distance makes it worth it to me.  You need to like playing doubles if you want to get a lot of playing in.

Organization is round robin advancing to single elimination. I played in my rating event, age event, mixed doubles and hardbat.  I didn't play in the mis-named 2000+ because I thought I needed to be rated over 2000 for that.  But that isn't the case.  It is actually the Open event with a minimum rating of 1600 or so being required.

So  I won both of my singles events playing a total of 10 matches.  If I had entered the 2000+ event I'd have probably played 4 or 5 more matches.  I also played in the Hardbat, Mixed Doubles and Hardbat Doubles for probably 10-12 more matches.

I hope that helps.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
