Houston or Agadir? - to be decided next Monday, April 22 (live stream on itTV):

Significantly, the AGM will see votes cast to decide where the 2021 and 2022 World Championships will take place. Morocco and United States are battling it out to host the former, ensuring that the greatest annual table tennis event will enter a new market. Meanwhile, bidding to stage the 2022 World Championships are China, Japan and Portugal: the first time in recent history that three bids for a single event have reached AGM final voting.

Houston would be awesome. Do we have to qualify to enter?

Houston should have a WTTC on the main courts with an under 2000 super tier RR on the outer tables. Wink

According to news, China TT will support US houston for 2021.  In return, US will support China chengdu WTTC for 2022. LGL worry about 2022 big fight between China vs Japan so making strategic move.

April is a good time of the year.  I just hope everyone will have a chance to get tickets at decent prices before scalpers get in on the act. Also hope there is decent capacity.  Will definitely be there as this will be an extremely convenient way of crossing off a bucket list item.

How come it's 2021 and then Chengdu in 2022. Shouldn't it be 2023?

The world championships used to be every two years, be two weeks long and had both teams and singles/doubles.

It got split around 1999-2000 into every year, alternating singles/doubles and teams.
