ITTF brags about how each of 226 IOC members (countries of this planet) are also ITTF members.

But if you look at list of nations participating in WITTC it is not even half of 226. 

I can understand giving an opportunity for better players but it is sad that they don't include at least one player from each country. Is that too much to ask ?  The main draw is 128 players. How hard would be to include an additional player in each of early qualification rounds ? 

Obviously they want to keep the sport among elite selected nations.
This is not how you promote and popularize the sport for all

Even Olympics does a better job of qualifying players from more countries it seems even though the final 64 or so are higher quality
