A 13-year-old boy (lefty) in our club reached USATT rating of 1875 - a very impressive performance in our club considering his age. He plays inverted on both sides.
He has never played hard-bat before, just bought a hard-bat setup, and entered a USATT sanctioned hard-bat event (along with other events that he will be using inverted.)
When he uses inverted, he beats me easily. Last night we tried a match and he used the newly bought hard-bat setup - I beat him easily.

I told him that if he plays hard-bat event, it will affect his USATT rating.
He said "no", it is a hard-bat event it won't affect his USATT rating (currently stands at 1875.)

What is your opinion? Please help.

Hardbat-only events do not count for USATT ratings, IIRC

If that's true, he will keep his USATT rating (1875).
Will he get another USATT hardbat rating? (He will have two different ratings?)

And of course if he plays hardbat in a regular tournament it will affect his regular rating.
Gambler Hinoki Vector blade; Double inverted. Or some LPs.

He will not have a hardbat rating from playing in this event.

He will play hardbat event in this:

Will it affect his USATT rating (1875)?
Will he get a separate rating for the hardbat event?

Interesting - curious why not?
First the event results would not be sent in for rating processing. If they were it would also effect his usatt rating. The USATT does not have a separate “hardbat” rating list. If the event was sent to hardbat.com (assuming the site is still being updated, no results listed for 2019) he could get hardbat rating that obviously wouldn’t be accurate.

No to both questions.

It’s a hardbat event at tournament. In this instance it will not have any affect on his usatt rating.

That's not the situation.
He will use hardbat to only play the hardbat event. (He never played hardbat before, just bought a hardbat.)
He will use inverted (that's what he normally uses) for the sponge event.

OK, I think he will have problems switching from hardbat to sponge in the same tournament.
