now they (the non-chinese ITTF women) are playing in an 8-day competition, the super league, together as a team.
So, no CNT players are on the world pro team. Of course, I know all foreign players are in the same team. That is my orginal pt. As I said, training and coaching in game are different. If you think they are the same, it is fine. I have no problem with that Wink

After those 9 matches from the international pro team, my conclusion is:

Jehon Jihee and Cheng are a very good double team but this is not surprising since both of them usually play very well in double with other partners.

Regarding, the singles, only Jehon Jihee has a very good "Chinese" level (except in her match with HZJ).

Fortunately, all the tier 2 and 3 Chinese players don't have the chance to compete regularly on the international stage, otherwise, players like Lily, Adriana, Doo, would have almost no chance to pass the qualifications....and all those players are currently....top 30

China has too many good players.  If some of the older players weren't forced to retire and the Chinese association could flood an ITTF event with as many players as possible, the world rankings would look very different.  If you follow the Japanese T-league there are also many high level Japanese players who aren't household names.

Wow Lin Gaoyuan came so close against Liang Jingkun... That hook serve looks legit haha, definitely very new, I never seen him do it before.

Interestingly, Liang Jingkun used a red rubber on forehand which is very rare among Chinese players.  Does anyone know what is going on?

You must not be a regular reader of the EJ Times.  Didn't he start using a bh rubber on fh at the chinese olympics and the other big events since RestarTT?

I don't really pay attention to Men's TT but I remember seeing the news about LJK using a 37° h3 or smth as his fh rubber.

Yes that fits his playstyle perfectly, because his BH is super powerful and having the boosted blue sponge hurricane on his BH helps him dominate the all important BH rallies by increasing the spin significantly.

His FH is often hit relatively out of position and late, so the softer rubber on the FH helps him get more quality on them as opposed to the more unforgiving blue sponge hurricanes.

Ma Long is too strong. He probably will win his second olympic gold next year.

Agreed amazing strong play by Ma Long. He is very rarely out of position and his ball placement is outstanding. So crisp on most shots with what looks like a lot of time on the ball while his opposition seem to be under extreme pressure from the get go.

Liang Jingkun and Ma Longs match was great to watch.
