Hi I was wondering what the purpose of 3 ply Jpen blades.
I've been offered a 3 ply blade and was wondering if it was worth purchasing.

As far as I can tell:

1-Ply Hinoki Square Head - traditional 1 wing drive play

1-Ply Hinoki Round Head - Fast attack or short pips blades

1-Ply Non-Hinoki jpen - same purpose as 1-Ply Hinoki but at an affordable price at the cost of different feel

Thick 5 ply Jpen - blades for people transitioning from all wood Shakehand/Cpen to Jpen

Thick Composite Jpen - blades for people transitioning from Composite Shakehand/Cpen to Jpen

Thin AllWood and Composite Jpen - Twiddling blades with access to RPB. Can be played like regular Cpen

3ply Hinoki - same purpose as 1 ply Hinoki but with a lower chance of splitting??

Please feel free correct me and contribute above in case I missed something

I have several single ply hinoki J-pen for many years without any problem.
I also have 1 Ryu Seung Min ZLC and it seems the top ply is Hinoki.
However I now play C-pen although I still keep the J-pens on my collection.

I´ve played with Ekstaule a lot of years ago, it was too fast for my game. So tried Selebes, it was just perfect, light and powerful with 2 inverted rubbers. Won a title with it.
But I regret not buying Akonit, it was a softer version of Ekstaule.
