Kuai Man and Miu Hirano are in opposite halves of the main draw. That's the match up I want and expect to see in the Finals. Miwa Harimoto's progress will also be interesting to watch. She just turned 14 and is already scary good.
On the men's side, Gacina is a very worthy top seed after winning the 2022 WTT Star Contender Doha. Let's see if he can continue.

So many defenders in the third quarter, lucky for Kuai Man.
A way stronger top half. Can't wait to see Kim Hayeong and potentially Kim Nayeong against Chen Yi. |

Top seed Hana Matelova loses 1-4 to Qin Yuxuan. I wondered how Matelova is ranked so high when she could not sustain a rally with Qin who I don't think particularly played that great. It looks like Matelova was able to peak at the one Contender tournament where mostly Europeans showed up... the 2021 WTT Contender Tunis where she won it.

This ranking is simple......you are n° 250 in the world, you go to the semi or final of a contender and next week, you are n°30 in the world...... If you are a African or a South American player for instance, you can also be ranked in the top 50 while your level is between 150 and 200.... |

Yay! I'm happy for Haruna Ojio. Her game is much more dynamic than Sato's. She transitions from defensive chop to attacking sidespin chop seamlessly and is braver in her attacks.

Tough times ahead for Kuai Man(2004/2/7) and Chen Yi(2004/8/24), who are both turning 18. With just a little over 2 years left, it's safe to say they have no place for Paris 2024. And not making the Paris 2024 means their chances of playing in Los Angeles 2028 is practically zero unless something happens to WMY and SYS.
