I have a tendency to loosen the pips from the blade with my finger.  If when applying the LP's would it be legal to fold the LP's over the edge of the blade to where it looks like edge tape.  Basically it looks like edge tape with pips.

The rule 2.4.4 prohibits covering material overhanging beyond the limits of the blade.

Be happy.

The rubbers need to be on a flat surface,
so your bending of what ever way possible, is not flat then.

Do not let those tricky LP players fool you.  It is not the finger/ loosening problem he wants to fix.  He wants to do it so all those edge mis-hits he normally does will have a chance of landing on the table.

To paraphrase some anti-Lp rhetoric:

Do not put LP on your blade edge.  Just learn to watch the ball and hit with the center of the blade.

Mark - Who believes all his opponents should be banned from using LP, SP, MP, inverted, and paddles.
