I just watched the Lind match. What a strange combination of shots, off-speed, some Truls/Lebrun variations, a couple of hyper-aggressive backhands, flat and spinny forehands. It's like a Frankenstein's monster of a game.

I expected a 3-1 win with scores like 11-9 but not this kind of display.

Defending WS champion out in straight games. Not exactly a surprise after the R16 for CXT and R32 for WMY.

Japanese players need to develop a killer instinct when they have game point.

CXT takes out WMY 4-0!  WMY looking dejected throughout.

Sad that there's a nearly non-existent audience for a World Championship.

If you want an audience in Africa, you have to make it in Nigeria or in Egypt, that's all.

Although nowadays the slip and stumble happens a lot more often than in their "golden era", China really is the poster child of "Play your Part" in hood politics. It's horrifying and beautiful to see.

Missing those 2 FH at 9:7 of G5 cost Harimoto the match. He needed to make just 1 of them count. Still, the tenacity he displayed in G3 and G4 after being down 2 games, then from trailing to leading in G5, and still kept it close in G6 eliminates any doubt on his mental strength.

The side angle is doing this match a huge injustice.

The trajectory of Hayata's shots that gives WYD so much trouble is completely taken away.

Hayata vs WYD
04, 14, 15, 25, 27, 37, 38, 48, 411
10, 13, 113, 10 in a row.
10, 11, 31, 32, 62, 69, 7 in a row, 79, 119, 4 in a row
03, 14, 24, 25, 55, 58, 68, 611
10 WYD got lobbed down, 20 WYD faulted for serve, 22, 32 WYD served into the net, 52, 55, 85, 88 Hayata missed the pop-up, 98, 99, 119
02, 12, 13, 23, 33 dribbling net for Hayata, 35, 65 TO for WYD, 85, 87 TO for Hayata, 811 Just 3 points away.
30, 32, 52, 54, 74, 75, 85 deja vu, 810 Hayata is afraid to play FH, 1010, 1011, 1111, 1112, 1212, 1213, 1313, 1314, 1514, 1516, 1716, 1718, 1818, 1918, 1919, 2119
