The inevitable enshittification of MLTT. Here in England the bureaucrats who run Table Tennis England  decided that YouTube wasn't good enough and gave us tte.tv instead.

Will Adam Bobrow still be the MC this weekend, and do double duty with his Adamcast?

Interesting, since he just led his team to victory in the Joola Teams up the road in Washington DC.

Kou Lei is not on the Paddlers' roster...

Kou Lei and the Paddlers just need to win some Golden Games. They could be way out in front in the West Division.

I'd have to say Kou Lei is the favorite over Angles.  Kou was once 20th in the world and in the top 100 for 8 years.  He may not have the flashiest style but his technique is rock solid and his serve is extremely deceptive.

Lily, Rachel, Amy, Jishan, and Nandan will be going to China for the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup (which starts on Dec 4), and probably won’t be available for the cross-division matches this weekend.
Daniel Gonzalez and Fabiola Diaz will also be in Chengdu, playing for Puerto Rico.

Kou Lei does not even compete anymore for the Ukraine nationals nor for the Ukraine national team. He's a tremendous player for sure, no question ! but at that point if USATT wants to gain some credibility thay have to change their ratings regulations.

In France for example Gauzy is only ranked 7 M36, M meaning "Monde", world so. Sure it changes each week with WTT website, but the ratings change at least 2 times a year.

Now about the MLTT format: as a french TT fan binge watching ETTU and frenchro A/Pro B competitions, it's fun and enjoyable, really ! not really serious according to the ITTF standards but as they need to gain fans, markets, sponsors and so on, they needed to do things that way so it could be fun for the fans. Being able to watch it live of days after overseas on the MLTT Youtube channel is fun ! I love it !

Plus there are really serious pros, the french ones obviously (Angles, Lorentz, Brossier are former Pro A guys!), but also Dan Gorak (a legend in Poland already), Wenzhang Tao and of course Amy and Lilly for the gals, really good for a start as a pro league ! there are european pro leagues that have less talented players than those !

Kou Lei defeats Enzo Angles 3-0 in the championship decider match at the 2023 JOOLA Teams, improving to 2-0 against Angles.

Also, Dan Gorak loses 0-3 to longtime US resident and coach Zhang Xiang Jing in the same team match.

Any comment?

Majorponghead's review of this past weekend's event in Pleasanton. Amy Wang is The Golden Phoenix, perfect nickname for someone who wins two golden game points after losing the first one:

Yes, WTT Feeder. Qualifying doesn't start until Wednesday though.

In related news, Adi Sareen apparently missed this MLTT weekend in order to play the WTT Youth Star Contender in Portugal. Unfortunately he lost on Thursday morning in the first round to Hugo Deschamps from France (who ended up winning the event).

Next two weekends should be great for TT viewing in the USA.  Joola Teams has a bunch of MLTT stars followed by the Crossover weekend for MLTT in South Carolina.

So today the new leftie from Spain couldn't play for the Blasters because his finger got broken when Tao Wenzhang fell on it during Friday's victory celebration and they had to bring in the MLTT stats guy (and Michigan state champion) as a free agent but he couldn't handle Fabi Diaz's serves in the Golden Game and therefore Seattle won and took the lead in the standings!

Fantastic turnout and great atmosphere last night!
Funny fan club for Lily, I believe mostly college club mates from UC Berkeley.
Great job by Amy to win the last point against Ma and avoid a golden game golden point (which would’ve been a second in a row for Tao IIRC). Friday night was also funny, in how all the Bay Area Blasters fell down while celebrating.
The reaction by Amy and her teammates was similar to that of the Pan Am Games women’s team final.

Last night Lily Zhang beat another guy from Europe, but it was Amy Wang who clinched the Golden Game for Texas against Ma Jinbao...

Blasters vs Paddlers was a great contest - Lily and Rachel in particular kicked ass! Hopefully that will lead to more varied roles for the female players in the future.

The golden game is really heavily weighed on how the teams do.  Also an uneven match-up during the golden game can really kill a team's chances of winning.

Another MLTT weekend is about to start! Will Dima show up this time to cheer on his team? How 'bout Taylor Swift?
