Hey guys, I've been working on this for a while between many other things. Might be something you enjoy, might not be - but figured it's time for table tennis to have a regular podcast for the morning commuter/table tennis fans! :D

You can also listen on Spotify and Apple, here is the Spotify link:

I think consistency has always been a big issue when it comes to table tennis. There are very few people with staying power. I think TTDaily, Pongfinity and Bobrow are main figures who have been consistently present for the better part of a decade now and that separates them from the rest.

You're on your way to becoming the US/Kiwi Richard Prause! He has a pretty consistent podcast (in German):

There have been a few others that were decent in the past. Ones that come to mind are Pitchford and Drinkhalls YouTube podcast and the Expert Table Tennis podcasts which had a lot of good guest on.

For those lucky enough to speak German, Plattenplausch is a always worth a listen.

Thanks for sharing this Mat, great start and hope you keep it going! I'm sure there are a lot of 'second' tier (as in outside of the top ten WR) pros who woud be really happy to give you 20 mintes of their time and an insight into their game etc.

My suggestion for the next episode: Anders Lind

Pitch and Paul's was great, sadly it was one from that hub of zoom shows that sprouted during pandemic and they all ended when we could go back outside again haha

Expert TT was good too, I was guest number 1 on that one :D

To clarify, that's with Lennart Wehking and Erik Bottroff (strong-minded second-division players).

The one with Richard Prause is called Ping, Pong & Prause. It also features Benedikt Probst from DTTB actually.

For some reason German podcasts have a lot of Ps in their titles Smile

Some previews/summaries would be helpful - took me some time to get round to listening to Lily's but she spoke about how her attitude to TT has changed a bit and how she values her mental health more now.  Not sure it will be of interest to everyone but it is worth watching.

Both I think, but speaking for the forum though to be fair, it's always possible that we just don't have the eyeballs anymore.  But I do think there is some content there, it just has to be sold a bit to people (I hate clickbait but I find that it is a necessary principle for attracting attention even if carried too far).

Yea I think you are right, nowadays there is a lot of short quick content and it's harder to push long-form content styles. I think people just have significantly shorter attention spans these days when it comes to digesting content.

Another episode of the podcast is out, this time I'm talking Service Practice with Craig Bryant. Definitely a great guest with a wealth of knowledge to have for this topic. A lot of subject areas including service practice habits, things we hate seeing when people are 'practicing' their serves, a lack of guidance by coaches, and the opportunities people are missing out on by not taking it seriously enough!

After Episode 4's topic of Serve, it was important in Episode 5 to balance things out by talking about Serve Receive. Lily Zhang is back for this one!
