I see a lot of information about ESN rubbers and most people online say that the ESN table tennis rubbers are produced by ESN-ELASTOMER-GMBH.

From this page I read:

"The company ESN ELASTOMER GMBH, is a Manufacturer/ Producer, founded in 1991, which operates in the Rubber - transformation into semi-finished products industry. It is based in Hofheim, Germany."

Now ESN Deutsche Tischtennis produces the table tennis rubbers after sourcing in bulk from ESN-ELASTOMER-GMBH.

ESN ELASTOMER GMBH and ESN Deutsche Tischtennis are 2 different companies is this correct? One is just the other's supplier of semi finished products.

Let's clarify with an analogy:

My uncle McDonald lives in Idaho and produces potatoes🥔. McDonald chain of restaurants buys my uncle's potatoes in bulk to cook french fries to their customers. The McDonald French fries are a product of the McDonald restaurants, not my uncle's.

My post was more a question to make sure of it, I just browsed for a few minutes to get those 2 pages and did not research very deep.

Same company. The company changed its name from ESN Elastomer GmbH to ESN Deutsche Tischtennis Technologie GmbH in 2010.

Butterfly, Giant Dragon, and ESN are the three major monopolies to supply the hight tension rubbers on global market.
Here please find enclosed formulas and workflow for making tension rubber.
It is all overly complicated as hell, indeed.

Thank you.

On that Wikipedia page  https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georg_Nicklas I read

"In 1991 he founded ESN Deutsche Tischtennis Technologie GmbH."

It can mislead people to think the 2nd name was brought up before 2010. I suppose the Wikipedia contributor uses the latest name at the time of writing the article?

Better would be.

"In 1991 he founded ESN Elastomer GmbH, later renamed ESN Deutsche Tischtennis Technologie GmbH."

Oh well...

By the way: DOctor NIClas is also the founder of another German table tennis company…
