I like lightweight blades especially after my tennis elbow injury.
Can you suggest me a good balsa blade for looping game ?

I can tell you one I hated with a passion: the Balsa Carbo X5 from Butterfly. Stay away. awful feel. Bad vibrations. Total wreck! But it's been a while, maybe they do it better now? also I have not tested it with many rubbers and maybe it pairs well with the super hard sponges of today.
What I would do is testing 1st the TSP balsa carbon series because they are the same construction with different core thicknesses. Because apparently balsa is your focus, there is value in changing only the balsa core's thickness and see the overall differences with various sponge hardness for each blade. This is an interesting research. Good luck finding deals and used paddles to test.

Palio CAT is light and cheap. I think it is Balsa Carbon and weight about 60 g.

The best feeling balsa blades I've tried are the TSP, so I guess probably the victas recommendation is good if it's tsp. My partner had a couple of fitter 9.5's

I don't think balsa blades are the best for looping. The fast ones will have a very high rebound at high impact, which reduces the amount of spin significantly and lowers the throw. They also lack power away from the table. I agree with the others above though, TSP probably had the biggest and best range, and some of those blades are still made by Victas now. There's also Re-Impact, but that's more specialized. Note that the rubbers make up roughly half the weight of the bat, so choosing lighter rubbers will have quite an impact as well.

The Re-Impact balsa blades are handmade German balsa blades and among the best you can buy. Dr Neubauer and Barna also make good balsa blades.

I can write a lot about balsa blades, especially the ones with carbon cause I've tried everything that I saw around me. Yes they can be bouncy, but that depends on the type and thickness of the balsa and the top layer(s) and of course the type of carbon being used

I can offer you Dr.Neubauer World Champion ST with two rubbers Dr.Neubauer Domination Speed Soft. Everything is practically new and definitely this bat could be your favorite if you really want to play with balsa blade. Unbelievable control and balanced speed, very comfy handle, low weight. Definitely Top Level Balsa weapon. Keep me informed via P.M if you want it. |
