TT GLUE alternatives

What's the best Non-Toxic, Non-VOC alternative to expensive table tennis glue? I have been using Tear Mender, which works, but I wonder if there's something better out there.

Yes, its called Copydex. It comes from the UK but you can usually find it relatively inexpensively on ebay. It is thicker and more consistent than Tear Mender and has more ammonia content and so tends not to curdle on the blade. I've have received bad batches of Tear Mender before which is why I looked for an alternative and Copydex has been reliable so far.

I am using Revolution 3.0 after seeing someone in my club remove the glue from his old rubber in about 20 seconds. You do have to use several layers.

Actually, the milky white liquid one finds in the bottle is a heveya tree latex soap preserved with an ammonia additive. Excellent adhesive power.

I've been a Nittaku FineZip fan for years... and recently picked up a bottle of Revolution 3 glue. Wow. Took me a few rackets to get used to but it's great . Applies evenly and is self-leveling.

I'll use cream cheese if it works . . . the goal is to find less expensive, but effective and safe alternatives to overpriced table tennis glue.

STIGA GLUE is the best NEUTRAL substance upon plywoods as having minimum water content 20%. High viscosity WGs, thick consistency is the best.

COOKERY CORN STARCH FOR CONDITIONING WB GLUE
Pick up some cookery Corn Starch for getting a thin ranny WG up to high viscosity glue.. Corn Starch is most famous as an effective natural thicker... YOU will have final product much like a cookery cream easy to spread over wooden materials.

You gotta seal blades . . . especially Stiga. 

I am on the side of those who want to avoid contact between the blade and the water of the glue. After priming generously the sponge with Tearmender (3 coats adding up to 3 grams to the weight of the rubber), I let that glue dry completely and I apply on the blade 3 light coats of a mix of paper cement from the brand Best Test (75%) and Bestine (nasty stuff, manipulate outside only), their solvent (25%). By letting the glue dry completely on the blade too (it really does not take long but just let it dry overnight and outside if you want to be sure, that's what I do because why not...), we ensure no cheating because the VOC are gone and will not affect the sponge. This is the smartest method because it is easier, faster, cheaper and honest. We prime a rubber once and basta! I see a drawback, I must apply the glue on the blade outside and let the blade dry outside too; also when moving the rubber from blade to blade, the paper cement adds up on the sponge.
