As usual for Vegas, I've found the conditions drastically different. I think I figured out the correct calibration for what I'm used to. When I aim for the bottom of the net when returning serve and aim for a foot long off the end when blocking loops, my ball seems to land on the table.

Just out of curiosity, what are the conditions you are used to playing in. Ball, table, floor type, building type, etc.

An great result for Khoa, but the final 3 sets are painful to watch when you look at how well Sharon has played on the East Coast recently.

Heartiest congratulations to Jay Turberville, a national champion (what event?) and hardbat legend for our own time.

I see on the USATT Nationals results page that you and Johnstone won the Men's Hardbat Doubles, and that you finished second to Larry Hodges in O-40 Hardbat Singles.  Not bad, Fountain Hills' most eminent table tennis player ever, not bad.

I mostly play on Butterfly tables, wood flooring or standard red TT carpet. I'm not used to any plastic ball. Most of all I'm used to 0 to 200 ft above sea level as opposed to 2200 ft above sea level here.

I saw a match in the mini cadet girls event earlier today and I believe I just witnessed a future national champion or at least national team member in Sally Moyland from CA. The fiercest, toughest, and most athletic 10 year old I've ever seen in USATT tournaments.

Diane Chen won women's Over 40.

And Li Yuxiang was runner-up in men's Over 50 and Over 60.

Not much cpen among the younger players...

So did Wang Chen quit after her 1st game with Jennifer Wu? I think I heard she was called for her serves again.

Is there a page where I can lookup a player number? I was watching a match on table #3 and was impressed by player #533.

NJ/NY totally dominate the doubles events.

Wu Yue already won 2 titles, can she get the triple crown? Or will Lily Zhang become the first US-born quadruple women's champion?

And will Nikhil Kumar become the youngest men's champion ever? (I don't think so.)

One hour to go before all questions will be answered.

Yes, That's him.

I appreciate that tables 1-3 are live but I think that the page should include a link to player names by player number.

Hi,

I watched the women's and men's final live streaming.  My experience was that the production quality was lower than last year.  Several times the stream broke up badly.  In addition, it seemed they didn't spec out the lighting requirements for live streaming; at times there were many shadows, almost like a horror movie with darkness and mysterious bodies moving about.  Some angles of view were not consistently lit.

For a period of time, the overall stream was somewhat blurred.  I'm not sure to what extent this experience reflects my personal equipment and connection.

The USATT has made great improvement in many areas.  Here, it seems clear that the USATT does not do this very much, thus they do not build the thorough expertise that more experience functioning in different venues would be realized.

Both finals were quite disappointing. All in all there was maybe 2-3 minutes of play where there was any excitement and uncertainty. Too bad... not to diminish the achievement of the winners, just a general comment.
