Waldner Cup 2023 Postponed to 2024 with Exciting Developments
Dear Athletes, Supporters, and Media,
We share a pivotal decision today; the Waldner Cup 2023 is postponed to 2024. Our commitment to athlete well-being and global excellence is unwavering, and this shift offers a brighter future. Exciting dialogues with World Table Tennis (WTT) promise to elevate the event. We thank all who've been our cornerstone and beacon of hope.
While the Legends Cup and Summit are rescheduled, we apologize for any inconvenience and invite your continued support as we work toward a reimagined Waldner Cup in 2024.
Warm regards and an optimistic horizon ahead

Who knows right now? WTT has no schedule after Feb 2024 other than youth and feeders.

Based on 2023, there was 4 star contender
12 contender
1 smash
and finals x 1 or 2.

They need to squeeze in all these star contenders, champions and smash and finals and cups and glasses and there is basically 3 to 4 weeks of unusable time due to the OG - or maybe they will do a Star contender a day after OG ends.... who knows.

I'd put stock in merit-based team composition, with the underlying selection mechanism being JOW and LGL themselves.  indigo card

They should just let it go, no need to force it.
