MONNA Luisa of Japan.

Mima Ito did grow upto a living legend. She has no more rival to contend with, no more attraction for any competitions. She is much like Monna Luisa, the famous paint by old Italian master Da Vinchi. Monna Luisa did surpassed by far all women throughout the human history. So did Mima Ito.

ATP have guts a lot, ITTF crawling low.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/may/20/wimbledon-stripped-of-ranking-points-over-banning-of-russian-players-tennis

ITTF took a role of a torture tool, to opress some particular countries.. We got aware very well who is running this machine of injustice. It was IOC that enforced Mrs Sorling into doing the injustice on my country.

Regretful to say, all ITTF member Associations and all the individual table tennis players proved a faint heart with a zero amount of courage, while ATP and WTA players all stand united against the unworthy Wimbldon's harassment and discrimination of particular players for political reasons...

Maybe your country shouldn't try to invade, pillage, rape, occupy or destroy the other peaceful countries around it. That might help.

A little Chinese delegation with Kuai Man as the highest ranked player.

I really wonder why some top European players go playing in Lima while there is a tournament in Zagreb just at the same time with no jet lag....

Less high ranked opponents more chance to win more matches.

In a recent interview published in the volume 4 2022 of Table Tennis World, WEI Qingguang/ISEKI Seikou sheds light on LYJ's recent development after becoming his technical coach at the end of 2021. In a nutshell, LYJ tried to increase the power of his shots by brute force without the necessary foundation, which resulted in the "loss of his main system of quick hit and quick loop, and he kept thinking of forcing his shots and looping with a big swing, completely forgoing the linking between shots".

Finally! Uda/Ito make it as the 14th pair and will play in Zagreb after Ho Kwan Kit/Lee Ho Ching canceled their entry. The host wild cards have been given to Karakasevic/Surjan and Ban/Arapovic.

Well, at this rate, Zagreb won't see much proper Asian action,
With members of Chinese Taipei and whole Japanese team luggage is still missing in action.
They making use by what they have and borrowing left right and centre...

Kim Nayeong 3-1 over Hitomi Sato.  She didn't have much trouble with Sato's defense... only serves and occassional attacks but caught on as the match progressed.

Tough opening match for Truls Moregard as well playing Shunsuke Togami.  Another one to watch will be rising young star Hiroto Shinozuka (JPN) vs. Chen Yuanyu (CHN).

Miyuu Kihara will also be tested immediately taking on China's Chen Yi.

CHILDISH SPORTS.
The Best of Five games format is some mokery of real sport of Table tennis. Very poor spectacle, lacking of athleticism and tension.. Child_play, not worth of the time spend for watching, sorry.

Lin Shidong had a lot of trouble receiving HT’s serves.
And he really played in a rush in the 5th game.
Not sure he will be “the one” for the next cnt generation

I don't like this best-of-5 in the single elimination main draw at all.  The draws are small, the tables are many, the athletes are healthy, the time availability is long.

There is not better place for best-of-7 then right here.

Thanks.

Not sure he will be “the one” for the next cnt generation

Well, for a premiere, vs a top 10 player, he did not do that bad IMO, he was not far from winning this match.
Also, it was time for Harimoto to win Vs a Chinese player, even if this Chinese player is the 50th strongest Chinese player only.

This was a good win for Miwa's brother who has been struggling.  LSD played Darko even at the Singapore Smash but losing 12-10 in the 5th.

On a side note, fun fact ... today is Miwa's birthday.  She turns 14.  She shares the same birthday as Lily Zhang (now 26).  Hard to believe, but Lily is almost twice Miwa's age.

Chen Yi won 3-0 vs Kihara (11-5, 11-7, 14-12), that is a strong result.
