The JTTA site indicates Miwa's brother is sent on JTTA expense, and Ito and Hirano have applied to play at their own expense.

Ito's and Hirano's name "were disappeared".

One 5ch user points out that Uda's name disappeared earlier as well.

Not enough players.

MS: 58
WS: 47

The PDR, only 6 from top 20 for SCT, sounds so dumb as it ends up hurting participation in this case, especially when WTT can't host enough GS and CS for the top players, yet the WTT structure and ranking system force players to participate.

Too many fees for most of the European players for 1 only tournament there.
Not interesting enough, also when you guess you have a lot of probabilities to face a CNT player in the 1st or 2nd round....
In 32 days, there will be the Taiyuan contender....also in China and also "isolated" in the calendar and in this part of the world.
They should have plannified both tournaments one after the other....so the fees would have been better absorbed for the non Asian players.

You don't need to be national team to play, you just need your national/sponsor federation to approve your entry.

Even I can play if my federation will approve? There is no level requirements to enter WTT Contender?

The qualifiers, as long as there is room, not really.  When there is no room or competition to enter, max restrictions across countries on a first come first serve basis become critical and then rankings and other criteria are more important.

You can check out the WTT handbook and guild lines

There are restrictions per MA and players ranking.
If you meet such requirements and your MA is willing to enter you, then no problem

They all probably need a good rest.  Asian Championship followed by Asian Games.  Immediately followed by this Star Contender.

Hopefully, they'll get a good rest before WTT Champions Frankfurt.
