Can someone suggest a blade similar to Nittaku Shake Offense Carbon?
This was a thin Hinoki Outer + Carbon Inner Blade. How would the Nittaku Violin Inner compare to this blade? Thanks

The easiest way to find a similar blade to the NSO is to buy the old version of the NSD (Shake Defence) and reduce the head size to the size of the NSO. The feeling will be very similar, because both blades have the same construction.
I had several NSD and NSO in the past and you can really trust me in this point. If you should be interested in such an old NSD, feel free to contact me. I have one with slightly reduced head size of 15,9 x 15,6 cm which already has a similar size like NSO. The feeling of the Violin Inner will be totally different because white ash is much harder than hinoki. |

Thanks Magic_M. I am always hesitant to buy custom or modified blades as its difficult to buy a copy if I like it.
Can anyone suggest an in production blade with similar construction and characteristics?

Isn't the Neottec Amagi Carbon thicker with less flex and a thicker carbon layer?

Hi !
I have both, the Nittaku Shake Offence and the Neottec Amagi Carbon. The Amagi is a lot slower than the Shake Offence. The feeling is also a lot different (I prefer the Shake Offence for sure !) and the weight is not balanced the same (more on the head of the racket on the Amagi, so it is different when you play it...)

Were the weights of your Amagi and Shake offence similar? How much slower was the Amagi?
Did you find a better replacement for Shake Off?

Hi !
I use the same rubbers on both blades : FH Thibar Nimbus Sound 1,8 mm, BH Victas D3 1,5 mm. I play attacking style on both sides. The Neottec weights 147 g and the Nittaku 145 g. (I use the same hand grip on both blades, each is 7 g) I have to review my previous post. I trained for more than 3 hours yesterday and I have some points : * The forehand is better on the Nittaku but I think the Nimbus is not correctly glued on the Neottec so I will redo a test on thursday. * The backhand is far better on the Neottec. I have a lot more control, feeling and ease with the Victas on the Neottec than on the Nittaku. It's like if I have always played with that rubber ! After the thursday test, if the FH is still not good enough, I think I'll try to boost it a little.

Did I find a replacement blade for the Shake Offence ?
Well, I bought the Amagi for that purpose. I have ordered two other blades in my quest for a replacement : - der-materialspezialist Excalibur - der-materialspezialist Deluxe Carbon I also tried a Dr Neubauer Titan (same rubbers, of course) but I don't like this blade. I will test the Excalibur and the Deluxe Carbon next tuesday, with the same rubbers. If I don't forget, I will post my review.
