This Danish Open and also the Slovenian Open appears to have very thin crowds. Is this normal in Europe for an ITTF event?
Another question for Europeans in the forum. In the U.S., if we have the U.S. Open, it's also a tournament for everybody with different events ex. U1500, U1700 etc. Is this the same in Europe or is it just the pros playing?

Somebody kindly post videos of all the tournaments. The ittv is unwatchable, breaking off,sudden rewinds,stopping suddenly-you name it ! i was just looking at the cctv5 schedule and apparently they're gonna show reruns of the DANISH OPEN this week from 2:30 am to 4 am, beijing time, monday (today), tuesday, and wednesday. 2:30 am over there means that it'll start a little less than 2 hrs. from now. hopefully, someone will record the shows and post them for us. i really wanna see the zhang - boll match. i wanna see how boll got blitzed by yet another low-ranked chinese player (no. 50 in the world)... |

CCTV5 showed Ma Long - Suss, and now they are showing Zhang - Ovtcharov, so, perhaps there is no video of Zhang - Boll :(

yeah, you're right--i was just being facetious--zhang, zhang and xu are definitely at least top-20 material. they've already proven that their current low rankings are meaningless (actually, zhang chao lost his rating a few years back). if china wanted to, they could easily get rid of the current 4 non-chinese players (well, actually, 3 non-chinese and chuang from chinese taipei) in the top-10 and fill those spots up with their own players. it'll be interesting to see where zhang (jike) and zhang (chao) will end up in the rankings after the next update in a few days... it would be funny if they ended up in the top-10 one day, then you would have ma & ma, wang & wang, zhang & zhang... |

I wouldn't want to burst your bubble, but this game wasn't that interesting. If it's nowhere to be found, don't fret. You didn't miss out on anything really; I saw the game live. Ji Ke and Boll weren't even playing on center-court. They were playing at a table in the corner, where people were passing to and fro, which frustrated Boll immensely. More than once he paused in disbelief, looking angrily at people who wrecklesly disturbed the match by running back and forth between the spectator area and the main entrance, untill officials were called in to control the crowd. There were a few good ralleys, but other than that, i don't recall the game as being very eventful. Boll was clearly frustrated. He made alot of mistakes. That's not exactly what i said, Cyrilix, but fair enough : ) I did call the game "Not that interesting". There were some great rallies, pretty apparent by the video, but there's a huge difference between watching the game live and watching it on the TV, especially when it's youtube-style sped up. I think i may have enjoyed SWSS's re-cap better than the live game. There's more to a game than some good rallies, especially when you see it live. It wasn't exciting at any point in time really. Business as usual. And i appreciate you calling me out as a generic Boll fanboy, bbkon, even tho you don't know a thing about me. Thanks! Not the best way to get on my good side, but hey, maybe you don't really want to, so fair enough :) I don't even like boll that much.
