Hi all,

Do you know any good table tennis shoes with a grippy sole?
The floor in the gym where I practice is a bit slippery and I feel that the lack of stability is throwing my strokes off balance - can't really support them with your body when you're ice-skating.

Thanks

Mizuno, Asics and Butterfly shoes are all pretty good.

I am using the Li Ning Badminton shoes (Amazon: LI-NING Men Saga Lightweight Badminton Shoes Breathable Professional Sport Shoes AYTM085) and they work well. I had to order them 1 size bigger (10 instead of 9) since I have wide feet. So 10 works better for me.

Yinhe 980XX, DHS Hurricane 3 Neo, Nittaku Wallest 1.0mm sponge.

from what I used in term of grip Mizuno = Yonex > Asics.  Asics have the most support.

I am just wondering. Why is the floor slippery? Is it a wooden floor that hasn't been cleaned properly?
I ask because if it's dust or too much floorwax, new shoes won't solve the problem.
Most times a floor clean up or simply wetting the sole of your shoes solves the immediate issue.

If you can’t get actual table tennis shoes, I would recommend buying Astro turf trainers (the ones field hockey players use). They have very grippy soles designed to stop you sliding on a wet, slippery Astro, I find them grippier than normal trainers but I don’t know about table tennis shoes. Astros look more grippy. Maybe you should by ice skates LOL
