Not too much going on down south in NZ, Christchurch is the most active, but tt southland is where people play in Invercargill

Funnily enough I had lived in Invercargill from the end of 2021 until 3 months ago. 

As MH [nice to see you again Matt], there is very little TT south of ChCh. Dunedin [3 hours drive from IVC] has 2 or so players of a reasonable standard. If your friend is just looking to play, there are a few club nights and it'd be a good way to meet a few people - they are very eager to get players in the door.

My solution before moving there was to invest in a TT robot for my garage for training purposes. 

Give us a shout if you're ever in Aussie, Matt - migrated to Melbourne.
