The Fall 2009 Round Robins Rattlers Tournament

It was full house again at Rattlers last Sunday, with maximum capacity (36 players) in each category.

            The O-1000 event was dominated by Danny Ly, who remained undefeated throughout, thereby confirming his fine form at the recent CCTTA tournament. In the second qualifier, favourite Scott Lu got mixed up in a three-way tie with supercharged Desmond Wilson and Colin Carslake, and as a result got relegated to group A3 for the final round. While he and Carslake eventually won their respective groups, and the $30 attached to that victory, Desmond, possibly tired from previous excitement, couldn�t get anywhere in the top group and ended up empty handed. Maybe I�ll lend him a few dollars so he doesn�t go hungry all week� That weakness and Lu�s demise, in any case, opened the podium to Danny, Alex and Iraj, who are still counting their money.

            In the U-1500, despite challenges by Jorge Ospina and Fran�ois Caron - the Sudbury boy - the surprise winner was Max Tuzhin, or his long pips, or both. A worthy Rattler, in any case.
