So 3 days later, the four Supergirls are finally on their way to South Africa. As they originally planned to depart in the predawn hours of the 26th, which fell on a Saturday, the JTTA staff and their parents had to work on/spend their weekend running around to get the paperwork done. In Hayata's case, her parents had to get up at 5am on the 28th and rushed from Fukuoka to Tokyo to put in the form. "It is thanks to the staff and parents that we can leave today." Ito said. The next challenge for the team is the time constraint. They will have roughly a day to adjust to the jet lag and make final adjustments.

Is HARIMOTO Tomokazu in top form to do some damage? haha, he is Miu's double partner. JTN is all in this time.

Very interesting analyses, indeed.
Is it possible to do it on the boys' side and compare Korean, Japanese and Chinese boys.
===========

Don't know about doubles, but I don't think the Chinese can win singles:
Boys' team, girls' team, boys' singles and girls' singles.

I think for girls, the Japanese players will win teams and singles.
For boys, I think the Korean players will win teams and singles.
(The Japanese boys will not win even they have Harimoto Tomokazu who is #1 seed in singles seeding.)

However, there were posts suggested otherwise - they said that the Chinese would win.
Btw, no reason to get mad, we just have different opinions.

(If you think that the Chinese players will win, I respect your opinion.)
I believe it is between Korean / China in the boys events. Unlike the JNT in girls events, Korean is not head and shoulders above the rest of the field. If JNT does not win the girls teams and singles, it will be THE major upset in WJTT history.

Table 2 now has USA vs. Argentina boys (team event, I guess).

 Kanak Jha already won his match 3:0, Victor Liu is playing now (up 1:0 so far)

Missed the 5th game.

On the ITTF website, I can access all the match videos for this tournament that the ITTF has put up except for the ones in which the US players played in.

Could someone please verify that this is indeed the case (and it is not just my computer that is discriminating against the US boys)?

====================
Stopped watching the 5th match.  (Not watchable due to dark screen, from time to time.)
Did US boys win or lose?  (Against Argentina boys.)

Update:  US boys won, from results sheet.

Hirano's trip to China has prepared her well for the WJTTC. Really quick strokes. Too quick for her own good sometimes.

Ito dropped the 1st game...

On the boy's side, Kizukuri's having an unexpectedly close match.

He lost. Wow!

Ito is in a pinch.

Harimoto's grown a bit. Loud as ever.

Ito back from a roller coaster ride.

Hayata looks different from a few months back. Growth spurt?

She kept giving courtesy points...but still took the first two games by a comfortable margin.

Kizukuri is giving the entire team a thrill. Literally a dead weight.

Table 1, Yu (CHN) vs Huang (TPE), first game.  (VOD available later.)
Don't know why Yu was awarded 1 point, don't know Huang's violation that caused that.

Don't know if North Korea has played South Korea? (Junior boys team. table 7, time 14:30.)
(I vaguely remember there was once that North Korea refused to play South Korea, and chose to default.)

Update:  They have played this time.  Good, politics is out of sports.)
==============
Canadian girls team is doing better than Canadian boys team.
(Both teams are playing live now, table 1 & 2.)
