CPEN in china, but it'd be pretty damn heavy. I guess you can play one sided w/ it, or both sides pip/inverted

At 100 grams, it's a heavy blade, but some of that weight is in the comfortable, chunky handle, giving it a decent balance. Like the Clipper it is around 6.8mm in thickness which makes it a good blocker and it's about the same speed too.
Mazunov v your Korbel The Mazunov and Korbel are notably different in the way they play. For the average looper, developing their game; the Korbel is a better choice, as it one of the best looping blades on the market. It can be also used by a wider range of players, because it's lighter in weight, slower and easier to generate spin on loops with because it has more dwell time. It's more forgiving of mistimed or poorer technical shots too. The longer dwell time also makes it easier to load spin on slow loops and that benefits wristy players too. Although the Korbel is lighter in weight, it feels slightly head heavy and is not as well balanced as the Mazunov. The Mazunov in comparison has less dwell time and requires good technique and timing. It has better control than it's rating because it has the stability a heavy thick blade offers; but I still wouldn't recommend it to a player playing whose yet to develop the control and technique required to handle it's power. Like the Clipper; it's a great blade in the right hands. It is a very good choice for someone who : 1) likes the stability using a heavy, well balanced blade offers 2) possesses the consistency and technical skills required; to benefit from the power it brings to their game. 3) good for power loopers and those who generate their speed and spin with good body movement from the hips and waist. 4) those with a good mid distance game, where it's power is a real benefit 5) those with good timing and quick arm movement 6) those who like a good blocking blade 7) those with good control for the short game. Like the Clipper, the outer plies make it good at the short game. I have both a Korbel and Mazunov and the Mazunov gets a lot more playing time because I enjoy playing with it more.. Quite simply the Mazunov flared handle is more comfortable and I like the way it plays with 2.6mm Donic Supersonic S40. |

It's an awesome blade, but only for advanced players. Very heavy and stiff, which makes it as fast or faster than many composite blades, but still pretty good control on short game. Good for power looping and very stable on blocks. It's the blade used by Samsonov under the tibhar handle.
