My training partner has been using Donic Appelgren Allplay for years, and he's quite good (over 2000). He is looking for a similar Donic blade that is a little faster. I know Stiga, and they have a clear path up (in speed) from their All-round Classic.
Next step up in speed from Appelgren Allplay with similar plies, feel, etc.??? Thanks.

Get Steve an a small camping fry pan. I am sure he would beat me with one just as easily as he did with his regular racket during my last visit.
Wish I knew more about Donic blades to help you out. Sorry I did not make it by on my trip out west this year. Mark

I would say, get him a Waldner senso carbon. It is basically an Allplay with thin inner carbon.

Appelgren WC 89 is a slow carbon blade that might be worth trying. I used Allplay with various standard rubbers (Vega, Baracuda, Rakza, etc.) up to ~2000 level then switched to the WC89 and noticed a little more zip in my shots, with very similar feel, with the same rubbers.

I´ve had an Appelgren and at the same time a Stiga Allround Evolution.
Stiga had a more solid feel and was slightly faster.

Those would be my choice also, depending on exactly how much of an increase he is looking for in the new blade.

Thank you to everyone!! There were some good options here. In the end, my friend decided to go with Waldner Senso Carbon, which was overwhelmingly recommended on this thread!!
