No, it's Optm. PLUS, surprisingly light n comfy, good 4 my kid. Just powerful / fast enough n stable for him. Optm 7? No idea how fast/sweet it is, 7 plys is too much for my liking, but I'ven't tried therefore can't say much....

Not at all :) The blade itself is quite light...it's around 85.5 grams, and I usually play with long pips on my backhand

Some are... My MPS is a very good example as it weighs 101g...but ohhh it's worth it.

At what distance do they typically play? Do they chop with their backhand or just use LPs/SPs to block? You should mix up strong loops with smashes and pushes...

Now..now...Kennie..r n't u a bit, tiny bit narrow-minded there.(then again BEAUTY is in the eye of the beholder) Ah..yes..Donic n Yasaka blades have got quality..no doubt about that n relatively affortable..Btys are getting more n more expensive..but the one I've were quite cheap..I used to have one DONIC PERSSON POWERPLAY V2 but just a little slow but the head is smaller n compact, I sold it 4 very good price, it took alot of abuse from me...

Hi Kannie,

Looks like you are an expert of Yasaka blades.  What is the difference between Ma Lin Soft Carbon and Gatien Extra 3D Soft Carbon?  Some say that they are the same but Ma Lin blade is mainly for Asian market. Is this right?  Which Yasaka pure wood blade you would recommend for looping and close to table attack?

havent tried the donic dotec but i know they are not made in sweden, so i guess they dont have the same quality like other donic blades

and for the question about yasaka blades, if you put a layer of laquer on the blade, they dont splinter, for example ma lin wanted 6 layers of laquer  on his blad from the yasaka factory. Some yasaka blades are already laquered in the factory, like ma lin carbon, soft carbon, synergy etc.
