Has anyone noticed nothing new is coming out of China lately? I look at ESN rubbers and there is something like every 6 months almost, that's what it feels like. All sorts of variations at least. I then check out the cheaper manufactures and they are simply not making anything. Friendship still relying on Aurora/Focus 3 Snipe but even their tacky stuff hasn't progressed. Double Happiness are in the same boat, Giant Dragon and few others... Do they not want to join the race for the new plastic ball? Waiting to see when ITTF admits it was a mistake or something? Playing it safe I guess instead of marketing something that might end up a failure. Either way I don't know why I bother looking, none of the chinese rubbers I've played with come in different thicknesses. They are always max. It's ok but I want to try sometimes different style and set up differently.

I am not sure multiple "flavor of the month" ESN rubbers are necessarily a good thing. DHS has H8, Sanwei has target national. Friendship has max and thin sponge rubbers.
Frankly I do not think there is a need for any change in equipment based on the new ball. It is different but not 38 to 40 different.

why change? There's no need to release anything better if they know a boosted H3 is far away than any other ESN slippery rubber.
Rosewood V FL

Nittaku Fastarc G1-FH

Stiga DNA Pro-S MAX BH

Avoid any Butterfly stuff... at abusive prices. Raw power without control means nothing

Some of the 'smaller' manufacturers have released many offerings, Chinese companies such as Sword, and Palio have both released a new line of rubbers for the 40+ ball, for those that do wanna make an equipment change. Rubbers such as Paladin, and the new AK47 range respectively.

Personally the only change I've seen is that harder top ply blades are being switched back to softer top plies such as limba or thin koto.
