I just read an article about the best way to achieve muscle memory in tennis. The idea is to practice ONE stroke 4 times a week for 3 weeks. However, you should not practice any other strokes in this time or even do games. This inhibits the muscle memory you are achieving in the one stroke. There seems to be some good research that backs up these ideas. I believe the Chinese only practice one stroke for 3 months when young. Has anyone tried this method of training? I am trying this method of training on my forehand. Shadow swings and robot training only on one shot for 3 weeks with perfect form. It seems to be working after one week of training. I had a session with my coach Brett Clark and i could do things I could not do 3 weeks ago against some random ball placement. I can train very well but it does not transfer to matches. I am hoping this method of training will solve this issue.

We made bit differently: 2 weeks of training element separately and 6 weeks of insertion it to the actual game.
Works fine |
