completely? does he play casually at all? seems he made a living off playing for a while

Not sure - no more competitive playing that's for sure. I believe he is still listed as a coach at the MyTableTennisClub in Toronto - not sure if he's still coaching or not. I was told he made an appearance at the North American Championships earlier this month.
