Thanks.  Not 100% but I never am.  The problem now is that I am not sure if my current problem has a clear end without a reversion to my pre-2000 game.  But I will probably play league on Tuesday and figure it out after.

You probably did, you just did not know who to look for, since almost no one uses their real name in a forum. I kind of figured out few frequent posters, but it takes time.

Planning my first tournament to be in Westchester. Once my grad school applications are all finished and sent in I'll take a weekend to do the monthly open there.

How are the facilities there? Showers, lockers, food places? Is it better to drive or take the train (I'm in Nassau county btw)? How long would entering two separate ladders take me, let's say U1750 and U1900? And which events can I do in one day or two?

It's better than any other club I visited, but it's not an upscale gym-like environment. Food options are a bit limited, but you can always sneak out into Pleasantville/order takeout, I guess.

U1750 and U1900 take place on different days (Saturday and Sunday respectively), so keep that in mind. All events finish on the same day they started.

Saturday is U2000 and below (plus age groups, doubles and Handicap or some other fun event), and Sunday is U1900 and up.

They usually have tournament schedule/sign up form on their website, but somehow November one is not up yet. Just check their website in a few days.

I thought the only restriction is that you can not sign up for two events that start at the same time (1 hour apart is fine). To tell you the truth, 3 events per day is the most I can handle, YMMV.

How many games would you say you play per event? I'm unranked btw so idk how it would work if I advance past group stage.

I guess I will try the U1750 and U2000 as my first groups. Also does anyone know when the new USATT tournament prices start?

Since you won't advance in rated events - I'd say 3 matches, assuming RR group of 4 and everyone showing up.

P.S. Given that you are unrated, why don't you sign up for U1600 as well? This would give you events at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm on Saturday, IIRC.

If you're referring to the elimination of the rating fee that starts January of 2016.

In Westchester, they can assign him a ratings estimate and he can advance.  Their estimate is usually too low, so go early on Saturday and take the money.

Usually, if you see someone's rating rounded up to the nearest 50 or 100, it is an estimate.
