    Posted: 03/15/2008 at 2:52am
When we buy blades, we look at the manufacture description about the weight and we decide whether the weight are too heavy or not for us. We,however, know a little idea about guessing the rubber weight. I am thinking about posting the weight of rubber after we cut it. Here are the fews:
Donic Coppa JO Gold Max,Black              43g
Yasaka MarkV GPS 2.0mm,red,               35g
Nittaku Hammon 2.0mm, red,                 37g
Butterfly Sriver EL 2.1mm, red,               43g
Butterfly Sriver EL 1.9mm, balck,            41g
LKT Torrent 2.2mm, Black                       50g
Hurrican 2, 2.2mm,Red                            48g
Palio CJ8000 B, red, 2.0mm 35' Quattro, 43g

I hope this info will help you choose your future rubbers.

What if you don't have a weighing machine?

I'm thinking we should also include weight before cut when we are at the shop? The shop should have the machine.

Just a thought.

I think the database already existed over at the OOAK forum. Why don't we just add to that database?

In that case, why don't somebody over here talks to someone over there so we can have the database migrated over here. Because I think the database could grow so much faster here.

I think we need a database here at MYTT as well,  I have some I can add:

Rubbers MM Thick
 Uncut Cut
XP2008 2.0 64
Waldner JO Nittaku Red 2.0 61 42
Waldner JO Nittaku Black 2.0 66 47
Sriver G2 Black 2.1 65 42
Cermet Red 2.1 64 41

Waldners went on to a T2 (regular), The Cermet+G2  onto a Kiso Hinoki V (compact head)

Uncut weights will make more sense as it is much easier to calculate weight per square cm. That way it is independent of the blade size and can be a btter reference.

i think that some of these do exist on www.oneofakindtrading.com.au forum under the rubber datamass thread.
Perhaps haggisV might lend a hand on this one:-)
Its is pretty complete on chinese rubber but it needs more on german and japanese rubber
I would also like to see more on darkside rubbers like pimples and anti.

Silver/silvalis is in charge of that over there. He takes mass of rubbers UNCUT and the dimensions.

I agree, Torrent is definitely lighter than H2.  I have both and would describe H2 as 'heavy' whereas Torrent is about medium to light (I don't have scales to prove it but the difference is quite noticeable on the bat).

You should definitely send this to Silvalis so he can add this to his table. I have used his mass database a few times to see if some rubbers were a good match to my preferences, and it would make everybody's life easier if his database were bigger and better!

That what first I thought H2 would be heavier. When I put it on the scale Torrent black 2.2 is 50g and H2 red is 48g. I just gave away my h2 to other. Otherwise, I can post the pictures of both rubbers on scale.  You should check your Torrent is whether 2.0 or 2.2mm. According to http://mass.doingitwrong.net/ Chinese red rubber is lighter than Chinese black rubber. If you look at the H3, the weight difference is 3g between balck and red. The 2.2mm red H3 Grams/SQ cm is between 2.0mm red Donic Coppa and black F1. If I tell you the 2.2mm red H3 is lighter than 2.0mm black F1 by Grams/SQ cm measurement, you will not belive it.
But, most of the Chinese rubbers are not consistance in quality. You probably got the lighter Torrent and heavier H2 and I might end up having with heavier Torrent and lighter H2. According to Daniel Tan, H3 rubber is not heavy as we thought by grams/SQ cm.

Don't forget you need the dimensions (length and width) of the uncut sheet in order to do the calculations.
Length, Width, Sponge thickness , and weight in grams of uncut sheet.
