If the avenger 7 was only around 86-88 grams it would be perfect for me, Id like to keep my blades below 88 grams

maybe this thread is a little bit old but i just recently learned about the addidas blades. my eyes were pegged with i saw this blade and based on the review from yogi_bear i think this might suit me. i'm coming from zetro quad with xvj on both sides. recently i'm having a hard time coping up with my set-up. it's faster than me! i am on an EJing mode and looking for a slower set-up to enable me to execute my strokes at a slower pace. i'm a close to the table player. i am hesitating of placing the xvj on this beauty. what rubber would you recommend instead? thanks for the help.

the speed of the avenger carbon is more or less like the ma lin soft carbon or maybe a tbs level speed. you can actually place faster rubbers on it like P7, Rhyzm, Evolution EL-P, Calibra LT Sound etc

thanks yogi...actually my heart is between P7 and P5 so this should confirm my thoughts...i have tried Rhyzm and Calibra LT sound, they are good but i am having some trouble creating enough spin deadly enough for the receiver. but i will try it anyway since i have some sheets somewhere in my closet. For the Evolution EL-P, after seeing the reviews here, i'm half hearted to try it.
anyway, i will try to comeback to this forum to share my experiences with my EJing journey.

Those are the nicest looking factory production blades I have seen. I thought the BTY MJ was the poster child but those are all awesome.

Good day to everyone.
well this is my first review so i would try my best... if you have comments...please be gentle... i will not repeat what has already been discussed by yogi_bear on his earlier posts regarding compositions, dimensions, etc. ok...here it goes... Background: I am a shakehand two winged player with more strength on my forehand side. i play close to the table. i do not have an USATT rating but i am not completely a beginner so I would rate myself around 1500. first impressions: the blade was professionally packed and the blade was covered with plastic.i got the flared version. holding it in my small hands is very comfortable. the finish and worksmanship is very good. no need of filing like the hayabuza zxi i bought before. i do not have any weighing scales but it is significantly lighter than my zetro quad.with 2 medium heavy rubbers, i do not feel head heavy at all. feel: i was acustomed to hard fast blades (i have played stiga oversize, primorac carbon, gergely, hayabusa zxi and zetro quad). so holding and expriencing this blade was toally new for me. i confirm that the blade has a soft feel which i like. it has vibrations but little and not that bothering. I like it's way of giving feedback that the ball is there and i kinda feel also some feedback when the ball is already leaving the blade. speed despite of the soft feel...this blad is actually fast. this is my first off blade so i have nothing to compare it to. considering the blades that i have, i would rate it in terms of speed gergely>hayabusa>primorac>zetro quad>avenger carbon.though it is in the bottom, this is still fast enough to cause trouble to my opponents. my partner said, my ball got slower but harder to return (probably because of the spin). spin this beauty is a spin machine. i would say it produces more spin than my zetro quad. probably due to longer dwell and the blade really grabs the ball and transfer the spin before letting go. looping with this blade was easy. close to the table spin and drive is the strength of this blade. my partner said, the spin definitely increased and he is having trouble returning it.by the way, i also confirm yogi's findings that this blade has a large sweet spot block blocking with this blade is a no brainer. you just place the blade wherever the ball lands you can never go wrong (even with no so correct angle)...for me at least c",)...this blade is vvvveeerrryyyy forgiving...i have issues with my footwork but if i happen to place the blade where the ball lands, it goes in i want to add, with this blade my shot became pretty accurate. i can control the ball placement well. for now i have resolved to stick with this blade and train some more. hopefully, i improve my game for the next few sessions. oh, by the way, i used xiom vega japan(BH) and xiom sigma 1 europe(FH).this blade seems to like medium hard rubbers. and i had about an hour and a half session. i will comeback if i have some more new and relevant informations as i use this blade.
