For anyone uses/used grip and power grip...
hows the durability after all ? i feel like there's lot of marketing on Andro and afraid to buy them because i fear they might die within a month after first play.... any thoughts? im planning on putting Grip as my FH on my Barwell Fleet

I have used Grip and have high regard for the rubber it does what all the other top end ESN rubbers do these days and last depending on usage probably a good 100 hours. I am sure you will enjoy it, but I have not played with the power grip not sure what the difference is, I also like the MXP-P.

I'm very tempted since the rubbers are grippy and fast.
But I was disappointed when I read the same thing about the T80fx and T05fx., I found them fast but not that grippy. Spin is good but totally depends on your technique(if you are good, you can generate a lot of spin). But I'm finding the rubbers fast and don't want to make the same mistake, so confused whether I should get them in 2.1 or 1.9 of Ando PG. I hope getting them in 1.9 doesn't reduce the properties of the rubber that it is advertised for. I have never played with 1.9 rubber before, always 2.1 or max. Any suggestions? Hi Ray, it's always a treat to watch these guys play. But are they using the 1.9 or 2.1 sponge ? Most of their videos it seems as if they use 1.9 sponge on the rubbers that they test, but here it seems like they are using the thicker sponge to test. Just curious. Ps: this is off topic, but there was another site where they would show these japs cutting and gluing fresh sheets on blades, somehow I can't seem to find those....if you know what I'm talking about, send me the link or the site. Cheers. |

The durability of the RG is outstanding. Hands down the most durable rubber that I have played with. I have played tournaments with sheets that had 60+ hours on them. For practice, I started to note a decline in the grip and spin after ~150 h. And, all the edges are still intact. High praise. I expect PG to be equally durable.

My initial feedback on the PG on my Xiom VP blade after 4 plays 8 hours:
This rubber is 50%+ harder and faster than OVAsia, less forgiving, shorter dwell time. Really fast, the ball just contacts the rubber and flies back out. I didnt feel the catapult effect on it that I did on the OVA using WSC. I am not able to control it, yet. Not recommended for amateurs. |

Wow that's amazing - but since the rubber comes heavily factory-boosted, wouldn't the speed decline quicker than you specified?

Does it come heavily boosted ? I've heard people state that, but I can't smell anything funny/fishy when putting on a new sheet. I've mostly noted a dip in spin for heavily used rubbers. To me, speed remains fairly constant but that's just my opinion...user "slevin" may be able to provide additional insight.

Yes, it comes boosted and also takes on booster well. Great durability.

I have bought a few top rubbers from different brands about the same time last year and the Rasant pair is simply the most violent among the pack when new. It does drop in performance gradually after a while (more than a month I would say) but will remain pretty constant after. The best part is that they are durable without the usual trouble relating to tensors. BF does shrink on blade after a short period of time with significant top sheet smudges. My new Astro already got crumble edges which I have not play that much. With the level of performance and durability the Rasant pair is a pleasant surprise.

Any Rasant Grip players to give an update on the longterm experience?
Is it really low throw? For eg. how is the throw angle compared to EL-P or Omega V Eur/Pro? |

I wouldn't call RG a 'really low throw' rubber. It is lower than T05, but higher than the Calibra's. Medium? Very easy rubber to play with and excellent durability. In my opinion, it is one of the 'safest' rubbers to play with unless you are a pro, meaning that almost everybody can play well with it. I will give MX-P a chance in the coming months, but may very well return to RG at some point....

I've had my RG for about 6 months, still has crazy spin and everything, just like new. I play 10-15 hours on average per week (give or take some hours).

I have played rasant normal and rasant turbo. turbo has medium throw, like bluefire JP and evolution -S. Lower than bluefire M and evolution -P, t05. Rasant normal has even lower throw.
Throw: coppa < acuda S/P < rasant normal <= bluefire JP = tibhar -S = rasant turbo < tibhar -p = t05 < bluefire M < omega V pro That said, once you adjust your stroke for the lower throw, rasant turbo is an outstanding rubber. Probably the best I've tried. 1) It is the only hard rubber I've tried that is also fast and grippy (m1 is slow, Mxp is very slow, omerga V are very very slow. m1 turbo is slow. Only s1 is fast but not grippy. I haven't tried joola. POssibly t80 is similar to rasant turbo). 2) it's the only hard rubber I've tried that flips well. (even if you brush softly, you can feel the ball sink in the topsheet, unlike e.g. m1. and it lifts a lot when you brush the flip) 3) even if the throw is not high on counter and normal loop, it is high when brushing a lot (in other words, it is very grippy, like evolution -S or bluefire M, much more than evo -P ) my question is: does rasant grip have higher throw than rasant turbo / rasant normal?

recall from memory: rakza X is very similar to rasant turbo, but slower. Omega V: I've only tried PRO, not tour. Pro is a lot slower than rasant turbo, and a lot higher throw.

I can't tell you right now. the rubbers are glued :)
However it feels like elp or m1. in that range. maybe a bit lighter. definitely heavier than coppa.

if it can help, my clipper cr is 94 gr, and now, with two rasant turbo max, it is 198 gr. this suggests each rasant turbo, cut, is 52 gr.
