Standard H3 runs around 44 deg. The new no.19 sponge is around 37 deg. Hope this helps.

H3 can be anywhere from 35? or less to 42 or more depending on the sponge, sometimes the packets have the sponge hardness on them but not allways

I have not seen none of these new DHS H3 rubbers in the US. Anybody selling the new DHS H3 rubbers?
Have they released any 'speed glue effect' rubbers?

as a matter of fact, inside china, you can only buy those with a degree number marked. those without a specified degree on the packaging are not available in the chinese market. i'm not saying there is any quality difference between the domestic and export versions, but that's just how DHS has marketed these products.
i think it is very helpful to have the degree level marked, otherwise it is all down to the feel and weight of the packaging to gauge the hardness of the sponge - not the most scientific method to do it really. the harder the blade, the softer the sponge is the general rule of thumb, unless you are a strong player. i would use a medium sponge for a soft blade. those 41 42 degree ones should only be reserved for the very confident / technically solid players (together with copious amount of illegal jet fuel) |

My experience with dhs is the hardness marking on the package has very little to do with how hard the sponge is actually going to be. The higher quality versions actually seem harder to me. If you buy the #22 40deg sponge by itself, it's likely to be upwards of 42 and at times I've seen it like 45. But the quality is better nonetheless.

Of the 8 or 9 sheets of H3 that I have used (provincial, commercial, grey-market) each one has felt vastly different (in terms of hardness). It's almost like DHS stamps every sheet, regardless of it's hardness. That company has some of the worst quality control. Thank goodness I got off that train. |

Marking is only good if they're actually measured and are correct
