Hi All!
Just posting rubber's that I've found while I'm in China. I'll be bringing some back in case anyone wants to try. If interested, you're welcome to look at my website, www.powerpingpong.com. SXZY s 2nd generation, just came out and is phasing out the previous version. This rubber is supposedly must faster and powerful than version 1. With a slightly grippier top sheet and german sponge, this rubber should pave the way in training for the next generation of up and coming table tennis stars in China. The rubber comes in 2.2mm and has two different hardnesses to choose from. Either Medium Soft or Medium Hard. Here's a few picture of the rubber out of it's packaging. More to come when I test it out. |

Here's a picture of SXZY2 with just 2 layers of Haifu Blue Whale II Speed Glue. Waited less than 5 minutes. Look at the dome!

Here's my attempt at a simple review for the SXZY2.
Having used both the SXZY1 and SXZY2, I agree that the SXZY2 is more powerful and more spinny. The German sponge allows you to play with the rubber without speed glue. I used both the medium hard and medium soft rubber. Both play fairly similar. Both rubbers are on the heavier side. I believe the SXZY2 is heavier than the SXZY1. The rubber is great for practicing and improving your strokes. Not meant for tournament play, however, very easy to control. Although SXZY2 is more powerful than SXZY1, it is still not fast enough to run fast rallies. I would recommend this rubber as the first rubber to use for those who are under U1500. I work under the philosophy that control and placement is more important than speed. I believe that speed can be attained as the player progresses in their table tennis hobby/career, but mastery of control and placement is vital to the improvement of the player. For example, a 2000 player can easily control the ball without speed in such a way that a 1400 player cannot return, even if the 1400 player has massive speed and power. Hence it makes sense why the Chinese Provincial Training Center's start off their young players with one standard rubber, and as they progress to a level of approximately 2000, they allow them to test out other rubbers. This is a great rubber to train with. |
