Hi All!

Just posting rubber's that I've found while I'm in China. I'll be bringing some back in case anyone wants to try. If interested, you're welcome to look at my website, www.powerpingpong.com.

Palio CJ8000 Beijing Team Version, Speed (pardon my poor attempt at translating Chinese). 38-41 degrees hardness, 2.2mm, supposedly great for the backhand. Meant for fast ball attacks right off the table. Less spin, but great in speed. Also great for driving and smashing balls.

Here's a few picture of the rubber. More to come when I test it out.

Also, anyone reviews of this rubber are more than welcome to add to this thread.

After two layers of Haifu Blue Whale II Speed Glue and less than 2 minutes, the rubber domed like this:

Oh - thanks for the headsup!

I played with this rubber for about 3 months.

It's pretty versatile/controllable, with moderate speed and spin. Decent rubber for under $10, especially if you want something that doesn't feel "too chinese".

It's not really tacky, and the sponge is medium firm.

Kind of like a cheap Mark V that plays "blah".

Hits ok/decent allaround. Not exactly a loop monster. Not really fast.

Of Palio's line, I much preferred the Speed Tension (Blue white and black packaging) -

http://cgi.ebay.com/Palio-CJ8000-Tension-Pips-In-Rubber-Speed-Model_W0QQitemZ130257626944QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPing_Pong?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Speed Tension has many more gears and a high end that is stupidly fast and spinny. It's also more tacky, better service and loads more power on blocks, smashes and loops without giving up too much control.

Speed Tension has a wicked reverse dome and required layers of glue just to lay flat. It broke in really nicely and softened up after repeated gluings. Even on an ALL- blade this rubber was capable of producing enough speed to "hit past" a few US1800 players.

All in all, the tradeoffs (loss of control) from Palio Speed to Speed Tension (improvements in looping, killing and serving) are worth it.

I agree with icontek.
This rubber is best described as a dead Sriver EL/FX or Mark V.
Lack of spin turned me away from the rubber, but the speed wasn't too bad. Very much so an all around rubber. I would recommend the Dual Side Spin from the other post for a good quality backhand rubber.
