And probably the most expensive... For practice we use here a bucket of Donic Coach or Tibhar Basic (20 eurocents the piece). No doubt best 3 star balls are Nittaku. :)

There is difference only when you start looping and especially smashing the ball.

I disagree. I find many other differences when it comes to balls. One big thing I find different is Weight difference Color difference. Shape and the roundness. |

The difference between Donic Coach and DHS 3*** is only in the hardness of the material. DHS are more durable - or seem to be by hearing of how they knock of the table when hit perpendicularly. Still, it is the DHS 3*** that have fissures on their surface, not Donic Couch. This makes me think of ordering some Donic 3*** packs... just to test them.

Yep those are the lowest grade of fake DHS 3 star balls out there. There are better quality fake versions which are blue. Be careful on eBay |

I don't have any problem with Donic 3* balls. They are inexpensive and they last. They don't seem more or less susceptible to humidity, dry fast, seem consistent in quality, good even bounce, not brittle.
So why not Donic? |

I'm fairly certain that is the better fake version of the DHS balls. Reason being is because there's no way you can get them at that price even as a wholesaler/distrbutor of DHS. $20 for 120 3 Star Balls? Unheard of retail and wholesale.
Also, the box, although it looks like the new DHS 6 pack box, it looks a little iffy. The fake ones, you can tell almost immediately once you play with it. They bounce worse than a 1 star ball and they are brittle. DHS in 2007-2008 also had a few bad batches of balls. 2009 balls so far are pretty good. You may want to try another seller on eBay, or not even from eBay itself. But then again, I'm looking at the seller's feedback and he has 131 feedback with 124 unique feedback. So that means some repeat business. There's a possibility that those buyers may have never touched a real 3 star ball. Can anyone on mytt step up and say that they've bought from this eBayer? I truly do doubt that they real DHS 3 star balls, because there is absolutely no way it can be bought at that price. Even wholesale can't match anywhere near that price. And in case anyone is wondering... yes I'm fairly knowledgeable about eBay. Worked with eBay as a business since 2002, but stopped when it became too much of hassle to deal with in terms of non-seller protection. |
