I've never used a Stiga blade before and wasn't familiar with them. I was at training today and another student of my coach had this blade...Stiga Clipper CR. He had Tenergy05 and SriverG2FX on backhand and forehand respectively. [He's much better than I am.]
Anyways I saw his blade and there was 3 red layers in the middle of the blade and the bat overall was much lighter than my PENHOLD blade. Can anyone explain what the 3 thick red layers are of the blade? Sorry, I'm not familiar with Stiga blades; never used them. Thanks |

yeah, even cheapie sanwei v5 also has those red layers too... maybe they're going for "clone" of the clipper as the v5 is also 7 ply...

Yeah, just stained layers of wood. Clipper is an all wood blade. Yin-He Galaxy's clone would be the M6

The Galaxy M6 is a clone of a 5.8mm thick Clipper; like the Clipper CR, but without the CR coating. It is slightly head heavy, slower than the Clipper Wood and is a very good looping blade. The handle is like a Stiga master flared. I've found it loops well with medium and medium hard rubbers.
In contrast the Clipper Wood is 6.8 mm thick and a faster blade altogether. It also has a better balance to it, a slightly lower throw and a more comfortable handle. Both are good blades. |

What's this CR technology Stiga advertised so far? Is the CR version is etter than the regular version?

CR stands for Combi Revolution. This is kind of UV treatment of the surface of the blade. Stiga claims it increses speed by 21% comparing to non-treated blades.
