Zhang Yining in the military...again...

In a wonderful tradition of Chinese TT preparation top Chinese sportsmen spend weeks (over the year) in actual military barracks, uniformed and marching etc. Great idea! - pics are mostly, I think, from their time in the military before WTTTC 2008 in Guangzhou.

That's the discipline that makes champions! The only way to defeat that amount of money/policy/time/concentration/pressure/players is to come up with a supernaturally gifted player like Waldner... alas, they don't get born too often.

Yes, i think she was leading and if she won that point she would have won the match, but she made a serve error and the game went into deuce where Guo Yue won it 12-10..
Well I still think she's cute, so I am happy that nobody else seems to think so, it eliminates the competition..

ding ning and cai zhenhua vs joo se hyuk and park mi young.

cai was making all these errors, including a service error on match point, ding ning was telling him off in chinese and shoving her hand up to the korean pair to slow down the game, to which they lost in deuce.

Seems like being the best female table tennis world of maybe all time isn't good enough to get out of the service. In America it would be unthinkable to treat a top athlete in one of our important sports like that.

Wow i didn't know she were in the military... I thought she were hard training 24/7..
