Some of you may remember my post a few weeks back about an un-opened can of Basic Chack that was giving off fumes like crazy. Well I glued up my first paddle with it yesterday and you guessed it, now my paddle stinks! I left the paddle in its case (closed), in my gym bag (closed) in my car overnight. I get in the car this morning to go to the gym and its like wow, open a window and let some fresh air in! Is it normal for Basic Chack to give off so many fumes? Did I get some other glue in a Basic Chack can? I noticed a slight doming effect on my rubber before I attached it to the blade Id never had this happen with Best Test Rubber cement. I didnt play with the paddle last night (I was trying out another blade) but when I was just bouncing balls with it, it did seem a little more springy/alive. So did I get some mystery glue in a Basic Chack can or is this normal? |

I have never used basic chack but there should not be fumes coming out of the can like that, that's either a bad seal or something got into the glue and contaminated it. And don't be surprised if someone comes on here writing in bold letters and preaching about damnation in the near future.

Ok, thanks. I've always used rubber cement in the past and have never experienced this before.

I think there is something wrong with the product. I am using Clean Chack in tube form and everything is ok, there is no stink whatsoever. Clean Chack belong to the Basic Chack, so Basic Chack in good/normal condition should give no problem, unless it has been deteriorated somehow.
