Is anyone boosting short pimples? If yes, please post your results. I have a bunch of old short pimple sheets lying around and I just got some Reviver Phoenix Booster. I put a medium thick layer on an old sheet of Spinpips Blue. It didn't dome. When I glued, it I had to cut of about 1.5mm around the edge because the sponge expanded that much. I did a quick bounce test and it feels not so good. I have hunch this wont be good boosted, but I haven't had a chance to test it out. The sheet was pretty old, so nothing lost if it isn't any good. Just a little wasted booster.

Just have someone to make an actual practice. Booster bring more speeds and deceptive effect to your pips.

There is no real "pro", "prov" or "NT" H3 in the market.
Falco is not a booster |

Booster is way more legal than most peoples serve in Vietnam. It could be argued that boosting an old sponge is legal if you use VOC free booster. You are simply returing the sponge to its original condition. I boosted an old sheet of Gewo Nexxus El Pro 48 because when it accidently came unglued from my blade I had to take it off to reglue it. Well it shrunk like 2 or 3mm. The booster restored it to the original size. Is that illegal? I'm not really sure.

Boosting secretly also brings disrespect a lot on our whole sport. People would think us a dishonest folk. I never used boosters, I feel insulted, indeed. Those damned boosters, damned boosterers, fealthy frauds. |

I boosted a sheet of TSP Super Spinpips. It is super fast, but the spin is less. Its quite hard to control. If I can make a good solid hit with it, it rarely comes back. Blocking heavy loops is very challenging. They either fly long or hit the net.

If you think about it, it's not needed. SP players emphasise making their shots from close in. There's hardly any dwell time on a SP bat. There's hardly any curve on the trajectory of the the shot. Thus the time from stroke to the ball hitting the table is generally very short compared to using inverted rubbers. Boosting generally increase speed at the expense of spin and control. Do you really want to go that route? However, the latest style SP rubbers, Degu etc, have very springy sponges which, I suppose, is a bit like boosting. They allow SP players to play further back from the table. So maybe there's some benefit from boosting the old style SP such as Friendship 802. Contradictory, I know. |
