The Fall 2007 Round Robins Rattlers Tournament
RESULTS

This year, the Mississauga Rattlers TTC decided to start the season with its most popular formula, which consists of consecutive qualifying round robins, with no elimination or waiting time. So, on Remembrance Day, players remembered and quickly filled up all 72 available spaces. All managed to squeeze in 7 matches within the 5 hours devoted to each category.
    In the Open, we witnessed the welcome return to competition of Cyril Nwomonoh, who was narrowly overtaken by Ben Kim in his reach for the top. Ben, who nearly didn�t make it into the top group, deserves credit for fighting all the way to the end in a competition that had not started well for him. In the lower groups, congratulations are in order for low-rated Louis Wong, who ended up in A3, and Ponn Bou, who won the B1 group, despite opposition from 2100-2400 players.
    In the U-1400 category, patience and treachery finally prevailed to provide Chris Wspanially with his first tournament win in a long time. Steven Kark resisted until the end, to the point of equalling Chris in matches won/lost. It�s only when the referee started counting the games that Steven understood he wouldn�t be able to afford champagne with his 2nd-prize winnings.
