Hi.
I came across this blade.
Is this blade real or fake?
It seems so different with mine.
Especially at VISCARIA FL logo.
Also the colour seems fade compare to mine.
This is the silver new logo, same as mine.
I read in pictures of your blades thread and found that fake Viscaria was sold in China.
So i just want confirmation about this blade.

seems like a fake to me.

1. 5 Handle Layers - the bottom layer should be the Grey layer, the pic seems like it only 4 layers.
2. Arylate-CARBON print - the spacing is wider than usual.
3. Blade Description ..."the high performance..." this description should be perfectly aligned from end to end..the "polyarylate" section falls out of line.
4. "MADE IN JAPAN" should be aligned with the right-side ends of the description, this one isn't.
5. The 2nd "t" for Butterfly look to be smaller than the first "t"

it is difficult if it comes from china, those sweat shop owners don't understand much english, let along BTY fonts and formatting

I agree, mine have bottom layer gray.  Different from the one shown.  Agree about printing alignment too.  The one that I am looking at in my hand was purchased from Butterfly North America.

Be very careful when buying Butterfly blades, there are fakes and several different fakes for almost every butterfly blade, quite a few fake Stiga's too but not for as many as Butterfly's. There are also fake Acoustics and Violins out there

As well as fake Korbels.
They, however, play better than the original. I had 5 original Korbels both from Japan and Hungary, and ended up selling all of them and playing currently with a fake "WORLD LWADING" one. Wink

Note the 6 layers

I was thinking of playing around with my repaired ZLC and imagining the following process 1)taking a picture of the real printing (available on the web) 2)having a company print it on some sort of plastic sheet (reverse...) 3)use an iron on the non printed side of that sheet to transfer the ink to the blade.

Just the way a kid's tatoo works. I guess it's harder than I think.

It would be funny to have the real printing on the repaired side of my blade :)

This process is thermal transfer/ heat sublimation printing, it's not that hard but need to make sure the temperature doesn't turn your blade into Burn ofr Temper Tech
